Jayne Elizabeth Zanglein teaches law and public policy at Western Carolina University She also directs the Capital Stewardship Program at the National Labor College where she previously served as Provost. Professor Zanglein formerly was the J. Hadley Edgar Professor of Law and the Associate Dean at Texas Tech Law School. Before joining academia, Professor Zanglein was an ERISA practitioner for ten years, heading the ERISA Department at Vladeck, Waldman, Engelhard & Elias and serving as in-house counsel and plan administrator for a Taft-Hartley plan. She started her ERISA career in 1977, as an Employee Benefits Specialist for the Labor Management Service Administration, the precursor to EBSA. Professor Zanglein is the co-chair of the Reporting and Disclosure Committee of the ABA Section on Labor and Employment Law’s subcommittee on Employee Benefits. She has served on various task forces including Governor Cuomo’s Task Force on Pension Fund Investments. Professor Zanglein has authored three books on pension investments and over thirty articles on ERISA issues. Her most recent book, ERISA Litigation, is in its second edition and is published by BNA and is designed to guide attorneys and judges through the intricacies of ERISA Litigation. Professor Zanglein is also a mediator and teaches courses on conflict resolution and mediation.
